She received her bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and her Master’s in Counseling from Oakland University. She also holds specialty degrees in child and adolescent counseling and school counseling.

Carin enjoys working with students of all ages (including those in college) with issues of stress/anxiety, social problems, trouble succeeding academically, and behavioral problems. She has a great deal of experience with issues of grief and loss, domestic violence, children coping with divorce, and parenting challenges. She builds trust easily with children and teens by relating to them and seeing things from their perspective. Carin is a valuable part of a parent’s resource toolbox and provides parenting sessions to boost skills in dealing with challenges in the home.

Carin’s talents and experience as a therapist extend to adults as well. With her decades of clinical perspective, Carin will meet you where you are, working to understand the unique nature of the problems you face in life, at work, or home. She works with you to create a detailed action plan to help you gain traction and move toward your personal goals.

Carin’s approach to therapy is client-centered and strengths-based, with a relaxed and personalized style. Using cognitive-behavioral strategies, traditional talk therapy, developmentally appropriate language and techniques, and play therapy, Carin helps clients of all ages reach goals to improve their quality of life.
